The public is invited to attend a free educational program, Lessons of the Holocaust, on Tuesday, April 25, at 10 am at the Paton-Churdan school.
The program will be presented by Brad Wilkening, a member of the Commission on Holocaust Education. It includes a section on the history of the rise of the Nazis, the Nazi prison camps and programs, survivor stories, and a short video which brings a survivor together with the person that helped rescue him. Through this program, Wilkening hopes to make people more aware of how to be more humane, more caring, and more understanding. There will be time for questions at the conclusion of the program.
The program is sponsored by the Churdan public library and from funds received through Communities 4 Children and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children neighborhood/Community Network Mini Grants.
Persons who want more information can call the library at 515-389-3423.
